Peace or Revenge.
Cheeky Missy said:

Revenge was the only logical course of action left. Unless the enemies deluded the children, they\'d return to punish them, which why history seems to run as it does, seems to me. It\'s a curious mindset these days which recoils and bewails every single death while demanding the right to kill whomever at will.
Excellently rendered with superb imagery and a haunting poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing.

💯 Tobani…this holds nothing back. You’ve given us the sights, sounds, and cost of war in a way that lingers long after the read. That final question...peace or revenge...lands heavy because you’ve shown exactly what feeds both. Powerful work, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛ Have a fabulous day!

How the bile simmers when seething with hate, boiling over in to the horrors of revenge. A very powerful poem, Tobani. Very well done.

Fond regards,

Tony.

Revenge gasoline for the fire of hatred. A heart felt write that pulls at the heart watching people sliding down the cliff of ideological feuds where bushes of reprisal are grasped at out of desperation. A curse of mankind whose memory for bad outlasts his memory for kindness and good. Well written

Exactly, Tobani! You’ve boiled it down to that blunt finality that hits harder because of its simplicity. The visual drop to “Game Over” seals it perfectly. Loved this one, my friend. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

I guess the most fascinating angle on this gorgeous beauty is how many times I\'ve spoken it aloud to acknowledge that\'s what I/we are irresistibly staring down. After that, pardon et moi, I don\'t know any Latin, excepting \"pig Latin: ig pay atin lay.\" Awesomely rendered with a disturbingly haunting and deadly poignancy. Thank you for sharing.

Good write, Tobani.
The master asked,
\"Why is the creator doing all of this?\"
The student said.
\"I do not know.\"
The master replied,
\"Place fingers in your ears
And close your eyes.
When I clap open both at once.\"
CLAP
\"Which is more fun?\"

“To you, thanks I give for the jest.”
It has a slightly formal, almost ceremonial feel compared to how we’d phrase it in modern languages; like something a toga‑wearing stand‑up comic might say after a clever punchline. “I thank you for the joke”🕊️🙏🏻

Loved both the format and the message in this poem. Short and to the point it\'s wording is frustrating in reminding of messages received where access is denied on line. Password changed, wrong user name, account disabled, no record of such account on and on access denied where one had been before. The fun stops. A pertinent and poignant write Tobani

That English teacher sounds like a real jerk.
They say you always remember the good Teachers . That\'s half true as you remember the bad . My English Teacher was very helpful and didn\'t Hit you like the rest. She was also a Babe, but that\'s beside the Point.
People always say that I\'m very quiet. I usually say \' I\'m not Quiet l\'m just between sentences\'.
Anyway enough of my Ramblings: A fine Poem.

As a student I really do resonate with this, how people often care more about the fact you look unhappy rather than thinking about why (it\'s often them hahaha, so I\'m glad they don\'t ask). It makes me feel even better looking at the long list of comments who reciprocate the feelings.

Great Write and Thank you

My invisible self. How very wonderful to get inside your mind. I was translucent at school by many teachers however I have two or three that truly were there with me. What a wonderful subject, you took me back to being 11, kudos. 🌹

Nataiella, this hits with truth...and that’s always hard to shake. The way you hold that emotional distance...it’s not cold, it’s protective. The repetition of judgment and questions mirrors the weight of living unseen. You captured that inner other-world beautifully, my dear friend. Hope all has been well in my absence. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛

They\'ve a term, or rather terms, psychological labels for such behaviors, and nowadays a plethora of support groups for all of us who never were exactly \"extroverted,\" nor the most sociable [by their standards], nor as ready to render ourselves complete fools by answering or responding as if we completely understood. I doubt we\'re really that odd, but who knows. By adulthood, my loving father advised me to keep my jaw from hanging open [an unconscious gesture] lest people think me stupid when he knew otherwise. Theoretically we\'ve an ability to live freely now. Perhaps we\'ve only rather found a place where others like ourselves are. Beautifully rendered with excellent imagery and a vibrant poignancy. Thank you very much for sharing.

This poem captures the quiet ache of feeling unseen and misunderstood, where detachment is not indifference but a shield against intrusion. There’s such a poignancy in the contrast between external judgment and internal complexity of what’s perceived versus what’s felt. The speaker isn’t absent, just elsewhere.

What a magnificent poem! It strikes a chord within me, and I comprehend and can identify with its essence. Your poem \"Blank Expression\" explores themes of emotional isolation, misunderstanding, and the struggle for authentic communication. It reflects the internal experience of someone who feels disconnected from others and struggles to convey their feelings or thoughts.

Pay it forward my friend, you say it beautifully in verse. It costs nothing to be kind, and there is everything to be gained. Manners equates to acknowledging one another, as you so aptly state. Everything about this poem is a fave in spades!

Having spent my childhood in Colorado in the \'80\'s, it was bit of a shock in the \'90\'s to learn how unfriendly the Illinoisans were, where commonplace friendliness was met with coldness, rudeness and an odd surprise since in Colorado it seemed everyone was friendly whether or not we were perfect strangers. That was then, and now it\'s become shocking. Now civility no longer exists. Everyone is horrendously rude and obnoxious until you feel left alone in the midst of your fellows. Thank you for this timely, lovely and fitting call to kindness and civility. Beautifully rendered with an excellent spirit. Thank you for sharing.
