Attachment happens and gets the better of us. If it\'s one-sided, it becomes problematic. Thus the words \"choke\" and \"drift away\" in the poem.

This has the feel of a raw and heartfelt write, strong emotions over the increasing distance between each other, nicely expressed and written

Powerful!! This poem speaks to me and it echoes in my memory. It is deep emotionally and sounds highly personal and in the raw feeling it is still well composed a fave

In my humble and most limited expertise I still say this is an extremely powerful, exceedingly well written highly convincing poem with marvelous lines in every stanza. Splendid imagery and very good flow. It is inspirational and highly spiritual in its own nature of tearing the fabric of hypocrisy and exposing the fallacy of organized religion and its man made rot and filth bred by greed and lust for power. One of the best worded poems I have read it reeks with wisdom and bleeds truth. Loved it and it is an easy fave

The metaphor seems clear to me and how we are all that bird frozen on a window sill watching the world go by gathering dust. Were we not all bought from a thrift shop? A wonderful poem full of meaning.

So many of these lines:
\"because without the wound
what the hell were you suffering for?\"\'
\"we both know it’s the weight
of everything you never said, \"
\"call it whatever the fuck makes it quieter.
Just don’t call it truth.\"
\"Because truth
would taste like copper
and come out screaming.\"
What incredible imagery and metaphor, one of my favorite favorites! I may take the time to memorize this raw masterpiece.

A wonderous poem of reflection filled with great metaphor and images that open the mind to words of the past that blow in the winds of hope and die in the summer of heat of a breathless sky. The worship of the sun now covered with the smog of our pollution has left us without faith in a world without hope. A most lovely write and a fave

There are great metaphors here. The intent of the poem seems to be to draw attention to hypocrisy and a general lack of charity. A most lovely write that is thought provoking

Your metaphors may stick in the throat of some but it got me salivating. Hard to swallow yes that may be so but needed nourishment for those starved of honesty. A lovely write similar in some ways to one I did a while back or at least it reminded me of it. It\'s a fave
