The Abbey In The Oakwood: ( Inspired By Caspar David Friedrich\'s Painting, 1809-10)

Here we have the Abby and the oak both symbols of religious connection and in the oak longevity paired with the monks burying one the sign of mortality a contrast. A ruined Abby like the ruined body that death has taken on both counts. The circle of life to death and the religious promise of resurrection seen in the Abby, monks and oaks. Very nicely done
