Praised Be The Light

A fine write D. Some versions have \'The darkness has not comprehended the light\' - not understood it? can\'t overcome it?

Musings About Mortality
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Dominic, this feels heavy with compassion. The fragility you name settles quietly, and the ache for mercy and healing runs through every line. It stayed with me. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

This seems a quest for the holy grail and that philosopher\'s stone is not to be found. Instead lead must remain lead no gold today and the reality of natural laws prevail over the magic of alchemy. Well done Dominic

Night Rain
Tristan Robert Lange said:
Dominic, the image of car lights punctuating the rain really holds this together. That small visual keeps the whole poem grounded while the mood deepens around it. Subtle and effective. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦⬛

Yes, dark December at 4pm; come Summer, dark at 9pm or later! I\'m a doom merchant. When it gets to June 21, I say \'Don\'t worry; the nights are drawing in again now!\' heehee.

There is a sense of the familiar in the painting itself and this poem emphasizes the colors used and the brush strokes that bring it to life. A most descriptive poem. Well done

The Abbey In The Oakwood: ( Inspired By Caspar David Friedrich\'s Painting, 1809-10)
sorenbarrett said:
Here we have the Abby and the oak both symbols of religious connection and in the oak longevity paired with the monks burying one the sign of mortality a contrast. A ruined Abby like the ruined body that death has taken on both counts. The circle of life to death and the religious promise of resurrection seen in the Abby, monks and oaks. Very nicely done
