Teddy,

I am pretty certain that your Writing has the potential to be shortlisted for the BAD SEX in FICTION AWARD... I too have written a sex scene with a Man Booker, whose relation with Sex is "O" Level......👎👎👎👎👎😱

Thanks JOHN you have injected a bit of Italian Spice into MPS ~ so sensuous. "You dreamed now you are awake I missed you ! We must go this may not be our home. The Old Town now as always back on the road again !" I have made love to an Italian Girl (ANNA) it's not what they say it's how they say it. Also thay have a special quality as lovers ! You hint at it in your beautiful poem ! Such kissable lips ~ such open petals ~ such deep deep eyes ~ such yielding bodies ~ why can't they all be Neopolitan Girls ? Grazie per la condivisione del tuo poesia d'amore ~ Tuo Amico BRIAN

Teddy,
1. Revise JOHN UPDIKE or Philip Roth?!
2. Change title into:

"Lay,Layla...Lay" or
"The adventures of Layla in Layland"

And Teddy,
1.Is it a Jack Kerouac Week?
2.Last night we listened Tony Bennett:
"The shadow of your smile
When you are gone
Will color all my dreams
And light the dawn...." Nice,eh?😸

Great poem JOHN of the inevitability of MALE AGING and its consequences ! I'm only (DV) one third through my life (33) and already I feel the twinges. Your final stanza reminded me of the culmination of Shakespeare's "Seven Ages of Man". "Last scene of all that ends this strange eventful history. Is second childishness and mere oblivion ! Sans teeth ~ sans eyes ~ sans taste ~ sans everything. Ladies are different they are growing old disgracefully and still thinking of England "going for GOLD" ! Some of my older Male Friends (60+) seem to cope better and make the most of their dotage. You are not dead ~ yet ~ so CARPE DIEM and make the most of each opportunity ! Thanks for sharing BRIAN. Please check my FUSION ~ MY FAVORITE DRINK ~ thanks.

Saudade! wow... that's very descriptive and fits the poem very neat. It reminded me when I visited my wife many moons ago and I would find her in the rain just the way you describe the scene. I really enjoy reading because it has personality, surprise and leave you wondering. Rain is so poetic and the scene you used is so descriptive. Thank you... Very well done!
