In times of trial, it seems we\'ve earned more. This is perhaps a novel concept. Thank you for sharing. :)

Capitalistic Endeavours

if you want a really clear example of how ludicrous
capitalism impact on domesticated wildlife has been, lookup
the history of the humble Turkey, to quote:
\'As turkey production took off, breeding programs focused instead on packing as much meat as possible onto the bird’s frame. Breeders in the late 1920s began breeding birds that grew rapidly and had large breasts; the nickname for one variety was “Bronze Mae West,” but the industry eventually agreed on calling these new birds Broad Breasted Bronze.\')

(and thanks for inspiring my little rant below)
see Capitalism, in its Uncorrupted ideological State, is actually
a tool for Goodness, with immense Potential for impacting
lives of the most Needy, directly
in such a Positive and practically accessible format;
as evidenced by just how many people, Globally
it has offered a tangible path - out
of that abject poverty, they inherited at birth..
BUT!!!!!
In it\'s current State, where Greed for evermore Opulent
and diabolical levels of wilful ignorance
utilised to cocoon individuals in the Obliviousness needed
to outright - selfishly Deny, the disparity in society
lavishly extravagant Lifestyles can perpetuate, is
staggeringly and Morosely: Pathetic..

And imagine the clouds are smoke from happy campers hidden in their folds.
I like to imagine it’s lakes and ponds are mirrors,
Where I look more like my mom everyday.\'

Daddy, Can I Go Outside?
jarcher54 said:
So intense and bitter it is haunting and beautiful and painful. Elusive talents, bloated tummy, stinking piles... I guess we all have known someone who gets way with it... forfeiting consequences as you so beautifully put it. Real art takes courage, and this is as brave as a personal poem can be. I am glad you shared it. I hope you know you can trust your readers to sympathize and support.

This could be a metaphor for feeling undeserving of the love of another person who shines compared to your alien features. Whatever I thoroughly enjoyed your poem.

Your comment says you want to start a flame in the heart, yet I get mixed messages in the poem rich in metaphor, a push me pull me kind of feeling. That does not mean I don't like it. I like it a lot.

I am having a little trouble understanding. Perhaps all bundled up inside in the winter, unable to shed your heavy clothes and stiff boots, and never quite thawing out come spring. Perhaps a metaphor for someone's life living in a shell. Thanks for sharing.
