President Truman felt he had no choice and gave his permission ~ FOR THE BOMBS TO BE DEPLOYED ~ to save the lives of thousands of American & British & Japanese Militia in return for the death (sudden & slow) of over 75,000 \"innocent\" Japanese Civilians. President Truman never forgave himself. I am a Pacifist and I am thankful that NUCLEAR FISSION is being used for peaceful means ~ BUT we must be dilligent especially with a HAWK on the throne in the USA. I am a Scientist and I know that OPPENHEIMER and the other Scientists tried to distance themselves after the event # BUT it was too late ~ the deed had been done and the USA and her Allies must ALL share the blame.
