A wonderful write, Tony. The flow and the rhyming, just lovely. You have a way of weaving words together that makes it seem so easy and natural, yet the craft behind all your work is eternally evident. You are a master poet, my friend and I am honored to know and be reading you. πŸŒΉπŸ‘

Tony this poem sets the mood with some marvelous lines (The early spring still timbers need to argue with the flames;) as well as (My library stands, timbered strength, her authors bound in age, and there they rest, the words of giants, the tombstones of the sage.) Some great lines I wish I had thought of.. The mood is mellow and pensive and most enjoyed. Another fave for a brilliant pen.

Great to witness beauty in these moments. The world moves forward, but that doesn’t mean what came before is lost. We are shaped by our experiences, and the calm of understanding them is its own kind of wisdom. Cherish what has been, embrace what comes next, and know that even in stillness, there is meaning. Awesome share πŸ™πŸ»πŸ•ŠοΈ

I feel weeds are only weeds if they are so defined as such. Perhaps the vegetation grew more lustrous where he was.

The poem however satisfyingly complete, Tony.

A hard life of toil and graft working the soil and keeping the weeds at bay, only then in passing to have the weeds take back over, as he lay there and has been slowly forgotten, really enjoyed the read

The mood cast by this poem blows over my emotions like a prairie wind. So much unsaid yet felt in this composition. I feel that I have been there, believe it or not I have a scythe and use a sickle quite often so I guess I am old school. Sorry can\'t help the ramble this poem feels so real and yet the feeling is so impactful and carries so much weight. With time we are all forgotten. Another fave Tony

Let the wolves howl indeed. A detailed description of the good old days of tough men and cold weather. The cadence is remarkable. It reminds me of Australia\'s greatest poet Banjo Paterson. This poem is an excellent read.I enjoyed. It took me to a interesting world.

Would you be very much offended if I opted out of a trip to your mountains? I\'m sure the journey would be lively and full of colour, but I\'ve decided to take up an offer of a special two week sojourn at a spa and meditation resort instead. Next time perhaps..........

Great stuff - very much enjoyed.

I was a great fan of Robert Service and memorized many of his poems, this gives that feel. Rough and rugged it speaks of the mountains and the life I love. It\'s rhythm and rhyme are just to my liken\' A definite fave makes me homesick.

Tony your poems always have that meter that give a poem a sense of a tale. The rhyme is very nice and the language fits the setting while the story itself is always entertaining and poignant. I took this poem to apply to not only the epoch of the tale but to the present as well and present rulers unnamed. Loved it and a fave
