WELCOME LR ~ Thanks you for your first poem which is replete with compassion and concern for Mothers (human ~ feral ~ domesticated) and their young. I have studied Biological and Behavioral Science so I aware just how strong the bond between a Mother and her off~springs are throughout the Animal Kingdom. The more mentally developed the Animal the stronger the bond! I agree with your complaint that for the purpose of food and finance we remove Young from their Mothers with scant regard for the psychological and physiological effect on both the Mother and the young. In the UK when Mums with neonates are imprisoned ~ they are not separated from their babies ~ or the sentence is postponed. Mothers are nearly always given custody of pre~school children.
