The Solstice Summer Writers” Conference will take place at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts June 16-24. Applications received by May 29 will receive priority consideration. The Solstice Writers Conference features daily lectures, workshops in poetry, fiction and creative non-fiction and nightly readings by noted writers and poets. This year”s poetry workshops will be led by Pulitzer-prize winning poet Stephen Dunn, Jacqueline Johnson, Elizabeth Powell and Mark Turcotte. This year”s workshops will focus on the crafting of poetry and the art of revision.
This eight-day immersion into workshops, panel discussions, readings, and book signings (plus our dance night and a day off for R&R), is designed for those who are passionate about the art of literature and the fellowship of other writers. Panel discussions with literary agents, editors, publishers, and our faculty will also enable students to learn about all aspects of the literary journey, from manuscript preparation to the ups and downs of submitting and publishing one’s work.
Pine Manor College is situated on 60 wooded acres just five miles from downtown Boston. The campus features an architectural blend of buildings of a former estate and modern facilities.
