Impelled to try an epigram,
I never seek to take the credit;
We all assume that Oscar said it.

Comments1Really enjoyed Dorothy Parker's poem Oscar Wilde! The brevity and wit were stellar, and to me, it felt like a tribute to the famed writer's own remarkable skill with epigrams. I'm no expert on poetry, but this reads beautifully and has a lovely humorous undertone. Parker certainly has a way with words, and there's no mistaking the affectionate nod towards her own inspirations. This compact yet impactful poem just made my day!
