Tune: Gonfalon Royal
('The royal banners forward go')
Acts 7 v.50-60
*******
Stephen did history rehearse
Of Israel, they did their worse
In the end they did crucify
The Lord of life, on cross did die
His summary, you stiff-necked ones
Stubborn towards God's only Son
Uncircumcised in heart and ears
Impenitent, for sins no tears
Always the Spirit resisting
Following their fathers, each thing
For Christ the Just One sure did they
Betrayed, murdered, for blood they bayed
Then cut to heart in fury, rage
They heard no more, but at that stage
Did cast him out and stoned to death
Yet he forgave to his last breath
He looked up to heaven and saw
God's glory, and Christ evermore
Standing on God's right hand above
He enveloped there in His love
He cried out as he was stoned, prayed
That sin not to their charge be layed
Holy martyr then fell asleep
Then wakes where none do mourn nor weep

Brilliant last line Orchi. My Spirit will meet you there.
Thanks Gold. Someone (a visitor) said to me: 'See you next in the Rapture, if not before!' I thought:' 'Hmm yes, it will be so'.
Rapture or rupture - I've got a small hernia is the same thing? Waiting for ultrasound - is that another name for your singing.
Since joining this site I've become as mad as you - is it part of post 1066 stress disorder?
Thanks M. lol.
Erm, nope, rapture and rupture not the same. But folk can't tell the difference when I sing. Aww why can't they?
We're eccentric - well I am. The 1066 group of us. You joining us - every October for the anniversary?
I'll be there - already got my 1066 underpants with protective lining.
I'll be there - already got my 1066 underpants with protective lining.
You said that twice - you bringing two pairs?
Strain my ears though i tried, i don't think i heard your dulcit tones amongst the hymn singing gathering. Was that among the blessings of the day?
Yes lol. they did not let me in!
