You hear about them quite often
Those people who help people,
Help people with habits,
Help them conquer them.
Alcoholics anonymous is famous
To help the addicts
Of the demon drink.
Then there is Gamblers anonymous
Helping people to keep their money.
Narcotics anonymous tries to stop
To stop people’s lives being ruined,
Ruined by drugs.
But has occurred to me
Whether there is a PA,
Poets Anonymous,
To help stop writing words,
These words that flow from me
So consistently.
Not that it matters,
It does not harm me,
Or others,
Unless poetry
Is just not for them.

It certainly is for you. Don't ever stop writing because you are a bar of writing gold. Keep hols of your treasure and take care of those people who you write about. A touching piece.

Well, I'm a 'watchdog', not anonymous, if any 'naughty' people don't tick poems as 18+, if they should be! Got a terrible loud bark, and might bite too! Down, Rover! Woof!
Good word there too - anony-wotist! I'm still trying to say all those 's' words - shirts, socks, etc from another poem.
Anonywotsit is good Orchi. I am working on a poem for you ready for a poetry meeting that I am going to called acrostic day and you will be amazed at the word I am going use.

ANDY ~ First let me thank you for showcasing the UNIQUE PATSY CLINE born 1932 ~ died 1963 aged just 30 (Plane Crash). A unique voice and her recording of Willy Nelson's CRAZY is one of the greatest recordings by any female Country Music Star. The pathos in her voice always makes me CRY !
I understand your poem ~ You are not against AA ~ GA ~ CA etc because these habits do ruin Society as a whole and many many individuals ! I support PROLIFE which is Anti-Abortion and Christians Against which is Anti-Dept ! But I deplore POETS ANONYMOUS who would seek to cure POETS of their MUSE ~ we would all die of deprivation. However I would support and GROUP that was ANTI-MODERN POETRY ~ Amen Thanks for caring & Sharing BRIAN & ANGELA
You are right, Patsy Cline IS a great Country singer, I have many of her recordings.
This was just a bit of fun, somebody very close to me is a member of AA and at the moment is 19 months free of drink. We were chatting the other day and it just came to me that there could be a Poets Anonymous as a bit of fun.
I do not decry modern poetry as there are some great works out there, it is the same with me as music I listen to all types and both with poetry and music there are only two types; that which you like; and that which you don't.
