Pens And Pencils
The pens that we use
Are technology I say
And pencils are too
And we use them every day:
Pens are official
To sign on the dotted line
And used to initial
Papers of all kinds
There are pencils for kids
As they learn to write
In their little tablets
and staying between the lines
Pencils are temporary
And should be used for puzzles
When we’re unsure
And having crossword trouble
Pens and pencils are fine
And put words down on paper
And preserve in time
Things read a little later

Fine work and I see we are both on the same theme today - and living next door to each other at that.
Thanks, Michael. I really enjoy the words you pen.
Pens and pencils are wondrous to use, I 'play' at calligraphy and using a dip pen seems to give more meaning to the words I write.
Thanks, G. I can appreciate dip pens. I think i know what you mean as for me it seems that words typed seem to be better for some reason.
A fine write w c. I seem to use pencils for ALL my poem writes. I've read that it can show un-commitment, using pencils - we can erase things!
I don't amend much of my work though. I don't spend ages on it. I just feel comfy with the flow of the pencil.
Thanks, orchidee. I often write with a pencil as well. Sometimes i write in bed, and when i position myself, my clipboard is at an angle and the ink runs out of my pen. With pencils, i can erase when i'm working, and as you say, there is less commitment
excellent!
also im a crossword player.
Thanks, onepauly I appreciate your support.
There is nothing more reassuring than sharpening a nice old-fashioned pencil.........
Yes, Lorna. Sharpening a pencil is a pleasant experience. I can still recall my school days and standing in line to use the sharpener.
Oh I love this. I carry around a box of sharpened pencils. I have always felt pens to be so Final.
Thank you for sharing.
You are welcome. Sometimes i wonder if i should have included a stanza or two on markers and crayons.
