Prayer Pleas

Tune: Ach Gott Und Herr

('Strengthen for service, Lord')

*******

Hear Lord, each prayer, petition made

Before your throne they arrayed

Send help, empower, whate'er need

By your good grace do us lead

You look with compassion on us

See us in your Son Jesus

A world of need, whate'er our state

Strengthen us, your mercies great

So to deal with each day's matters

Leave aside all anxious stirs

Of things tomorrow, future times

Progressing on through life's rhymes

For only you are God, you know

How each thing will work out so

Many things we know, but many

We do not know thoroughly

Work for our good, be great or small

The afflictions that we all

Experience, human life here

Yet not without your love near

Forgive where complacent we be

And fail to help or needs see

Give grace that by your Spirit free

We do what we can humbly

So is your peace retained within

Human hearts, and cleansed from sin

You renew, restore, and redeem

No matter how all does seem
