Tune: Everton
('Son of God, eternal Saviour')
Psalm 31 parts
********
In you, O LORD, I put my trust
I who am mere flesh and dust
Let me never be ashamed, for
I do trust you e'er for sure
Deliver me, your righteousness
Shall help me, and shall me bless
Bow your ear to me, hear my prayer
My strong rock, in you I share
For you are a house of defence
To save me, my refuge hence
Yes, you my rock and my fortress
You do lead me, I confess
For your name's sake you do lead, guide
From me you your help not hide
Take me from traps of enemies
You my strength who from them frees
I trusted you LORD in troubles
You have helped me, kept from falls
I said, You are my God always
Even unto endless days
My times are in your hand, help still
Deliver me from all ill
make your face shine on your servant
Save me here, I penitent
Let me not be ashamed, O LORD
For I trust your living word
And have called upon you here, see
Let the wicked ashamed be
But how great is your goodness to
Us, laid up for us anew
For those who do fear you, you show
Your goodness, they know it so
You shall hide them in secret place
They by faith behold your face
Shall defend them from oppression
Father, Spirit, and the Son
Blessed be the LORD, for He showed me
His marvellous kindness, He
Revealed it in a strong city
He my Lord and God e'er be
O love the LORD, all you saints here
Worship Him with praises dear
For He preserves the faithful sure
And does keep them evermore
He too repays the proud doers
Righteous judgements He confers
Be of good courage, the LORD shall
Strengthen your heart and hope well
