There he stood in his pulpit,
Our Church Minister.
Recently back from India,
His place of birth,
His home.
A wonderful man
Pleasant to all,
A fine God-fearing Man.
We got used to his accent,
Difficult at first,
But we learnt.
But when he goes to India
He comes back,
His accent is much stronger,
Only God knows what he is saying!

- Comment from author about the poem: We have had our Minister at our Church for two years now, he is a wonderful man but being from India his accent is quite strong but we got used to it. Unfortunately when he goes back to India his accent is very strong when he comes back. He also writes music and he has subsequently introduced me to Tamil music to which I enjoy listening.

He speaking in tongues there?! And are people awake when he speaks in his sermons?! heehee. A fine write Gold.
He might just as well be speaking in tongues.
My wife is catholic and when he is away on holiday in his native Ireland his place is taken by a Father from Ghana. He visits this country every year and has been doing so for a number of years now but still none of the congregation can understand a word he says so I can relate to your poem this morning Andy.
Thanks Michael, it can be hard sometimes.
Great write and soothing tune
Thank you Dan, yes the music is very good.
Great personification of todays multi ethnic society
