All Things New

orchidee

Tune: Cwm Rhondda

('Guide me, O thou great Redeemer')

Revelation 21 v.1-7

Repeat last line of each verse.

********

John did see earth and heaven new

There rejoicings not a few

For first heaven and first earth were

Passed away, it did concur

With God's purpose, and no more sea

No more separation, see (x2)

Viewed there be the holy city

Full of light, from sin set free

New Jerusalem, from heav'n came

It imprinted with God's name

Prepared as bride for her husband

Let all earth sing, heavens rend (x2)

Great voice out of heaven sounded

Echoes of it redounded

Behold, tabernacle of God

Is with men, and as He trod

On this earth in His Son Jesus

Now shall dwell and walk with us (x2)

God Himself be with His people

He be their God to them all

He shall wipe all tear from their eyes

He the One who never dies

Here no more death, sorrow, crying

Nor pain, comfort He does bring (x2)

The Lord God who sat on His throne

Says, I shall act, I alone

I make all things new, no behold

Let it be written and told

For these words be true and faithful

He shall bless who hear His call (x2)

He says, It is done, I am, be

Alpha and Omega see

The beginning and the end sure

And I will give evermore

To the thirsty of the fountain

Of water of life again (x2)

Come, freely drink, to quench your thirst

Living fountains here outburst

They that overcome inherit

All things, not lose out one whit

I will be their God, they my sons

And my daughters, every one (x2)

    Good write Orchi.

We had that hymn at Church yesterday

"Bread of heaven, bread of heaven
    Feed me till I want no more;

WANT NO MORE, (the bass line reprise which we basses sing with absolute gusto and drown out everybody else!)

Thanks Glad some of ya are singing with gusto. More than can be said in some places. But difficuIt if they dig out songs that hardly anyone knows! You wanting no more bread - not hungry yet?
I remember a daft uptake of Cliff Richard's 'Living Doll' Song. They got exasperated that the last 3 syllables of a certain line were repeated. One line went: 'She satisfies my soul' and the refrain was 'Fies my soul'. They said , Whatever does that mean?!' Enough trivia! lol.

I thought gusto was a gravy powder. Pity I can't sing - but I can make gravy.
