Tune: England's Lane
('For the beauty of the earth')
Psalm 8
********
Out of mouth of babes, infants
And of humble penitents
You have ordained, established
Strength, appointed as you wished
Chorus
Lord, our Lord, how excellent
You to us your Son have sent
This be so that you might still
The enemies plans, ill-will
When I heavens consider
They are works of your hands sure - Chorus
Moon and stars, each planet made
You the heavens have arrayed
So what is man, why mindful
Of him are you, why him call? - Chorus
And the son of man you too
Sent Him unto your world true
Made man have dominion
O'er works of your hands, each one - Chorus
Little lower than angels
You have made man, each tongue tells
Crowned with glory and honour
Praises rise and to you stir - Chorus
All under man's feet is, so
Sheep, oxen, beasts, they do know
Fowls of air, and fish of sea
Know man their care-taker be - Chorus

Good one Orchi.
Thanks Gold.
Orchi,
Another great hymn-poem!
Thank you for sharing.
~Laura~
Thanks Laura.
Thanks STEVE ~ Great HYMN ~ very BRITISH and a great one for the CONSERVATIONISTS. I love Psalm 8 one of my favourites. I am a CREATIONIST & a SCIENTIST and I do point out to people like Dawkins ~ That nowhere in the Bible does it say "God made "Man a little HIGHER than the APES" NO ! in this Psalm and in the NT we are presented as Spiritual Beings "A little LOWER than the ANGELS" ! That explains inter alia why there is no missing link ~ there is NO link ! Yours BRIAN !
Thanks Brian. Wish Dawkins would shut up! lol.
HI STEVE ~ Poor old DAWKINS caught in an endless loop. Wherever he is in the World he keeps saying THERE IS NO GOD and Billions of very rational people shout back O YES THERE IS ! I too pray that one day he will get the message ~ AMEN ~ BRIAN
Awesome, uplifting and lovely.
Thanks Orchidee.
Keep writing

Thanks Fine.
Bit patronising to say that you know how animals think. Who is this Lord fellah?
Well, it seems we are made care-takers over creation, including the animals. I think they know somehow. At least in part anyway, like when a cat or dog looks to us humans to feed them? And the Lord is not Joe Bloggs anyway!
Strange point of view.
Well, animals are not 'dumb' though. They too are made by a Creator God I believe.
