For Finches
Only the strong survive
In mother nature hard
Only the fittest eat
While the others starve
And rarely do the weak
Find themselves OK
As they live their lives
In nature come-what-may
Species are not the same
And must search for their niche
Where they are selected
At being better fit
Some have advantage
With special beaks for seeds
And they continue
And have some progeny
Nature is always changing
And variation occurs
Whether with a finch
Or any other bird

Cute, but these nice birdies wont evolve into anything but snacks if those pesky cats get a hold of them!
That's true, da.
We have many goldfinches visit our garden to feed. They cost a fortune to feed but are worth it
Yes, Goldfinch. Feeding birds can be expensive: I put sunflower seeds out for some, feed the hummingbirds sugar water, and treat woodpeckers with suet. Very costly.
A fine write and fine finch w c.
Thanks, orchidee. It's always nice to hear from you.
I got the deeper meaning of the poem.
lots of people eat in soup kitchens.
while the lions in Africa are
eating like kings.
