Abstract. For Michael Edwards.

Goldfinch60

Once more my mind is opened,

Opened by the image before me.

What is it that calls to me,

This splash of colours

Seemingly thrown haphazardly

Onto the canvas.

No noticeable form,

No noticeable structure,

But to me I am pulled in,

Pulled into the painting,

As if it were part of me,

Part of my life.

The artist thrills me,

Thrills me with his works,

But his abstracts take me further,

Take me to a place,

Where my thoughts become emblazoned.

Emblazoned with light,

Emblazoned with joy,

Emblazoned with love,

That place where euphoria dwells,

And all is at peace.

  • Comment from author about the poem: If you look at Michael Edward's poem plastic waste, two poems before this one you will see an artwork. This poem is about that and all other of Michael's abstracts, there is something about them that really pull me into them. Thank you Michael.

Thanks so much Andy - I feel deeply honoured. It really means so much to receive such a tribute. I think the earlier posting to which you refer is called Correctness.

You have posted 16 of these so far, and i have an image of every one of them in an album for my viewing, I do hope that you do not mind, they are only for my own viewing.

Of course I don't - trouble is I only have limited number of images and not painting them at the moment (working on other art forms) and not sure which I have and which I haven't posted before - so probably am reposting some but you may know better than me. Thanks yet again Andy.

The still lifes ME produces are the artworks i find most appealing. Amazing imagination assembles pieces of driftwood to tantalise a story from within us.

Yes that is very true but his abstracts just seem to talk to me in ways that I find compelling.

          euphoria.
          great word
          if you feel it.

            A great word onepauly,
            I do.
