There are Reasons for Seasons
The tilt of the Earth
The Rays of the SUN
And MOTHER EARTHS girth.
But the SEASON it is
At a time of the Year
Depends where you are
WHAT HEMISPHERE !
This Season IS AUTUMN
UK ~ USA in the NORTH
In NEW ZEALAND its SPRING
Cause it In the SOUTH !
So while ANGELA sees
All the Green Buds Grow
My LEAVES are BROWN
Then comes the SNOW
How this happens I dont know ?
Folks say "You're a CLOWN"
Its cause NEW ZEALAND'S
UPSIDE DOWN ~ AMEN !

Oh I dunno what year it is, let alone what day!
What season are we in now?
Is it a quarter part Spring
Or half-past Summer
A quarter to Winter
Or five (minutes) to Winter?
It's very confusing, ya know.
Of course it would help
If I put this sherry or three down!

WINTER IN AUCKLAND : NEW ZEALAND ~ ANGELA

WINTER in AUCKLAND : JUNE JULY AUGUST
I brought my Skis & Winter clothes
Because I thought I really MUST
BRIAN never told me : North Wind never blows
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Although the Mornings were quite frisky
Cool but never Frost or Snow
In the midday it was SIXTY (F)
Never ZERO (C) or below !

BRITS who emigrate to AUCKLAND
Tell me it lies in't SUB~TROPICS
They sail all year : play in the SAND
Skiing & Sleighing : TABOO TOPICS

SPRING is just around the corner
SUMMER & AUTUMN on their way
If this is WINTER in NEW ZEALAND
DONT tell BRIAN : Im GONNA STAY!

But there are more reasons,
Eight in fact,
That can serve to attract
Our pencils and pens
When we peer through the lens
So let’s raise a cheer
For the months of the year.
