The little jewel is rushing
As she is wont to do
Among the hyssops
Still standing in the fading garden
Kisses for all as she flies
She eyes the next and next
So many to say goodbye to
Before she leaves
So soon
Packing her sugar trunks
For the long lonely flight
Off and away before the Harvest Moon

“Off and away before the Harvest Moon”
A message beautifully delivered by your deliberate and thoughtful choice of words. I very much enjoyed this write and the clip that is accompanying your poem!
This has a sense of finality, but also the sense of a fragranced NEW BEGINNING!

Time goes so fast! Summer is really the season of the hummingbirds that come in mid-May and leave mid-September........ I make sugar water for them every day........ and there's an odd thing they do........ just before they leave they start hovering in the window (no food there) as if to say thank you. Happened to my sister as well. I think they are the souls of people who loved us. Thanks for your lovely comments as usual!
As I planned for today’s dinner, I was thinking of you and your garden!
My aunt loves noodles cooked in mint flavored milk! Her small garden is full with mint right now! The aromatic mint leaves remind her of my beloved grandmother who cooked this specialty for the family once a year. It had a special meaning! So today is the day for her special meal!

Delightful write, we do not have humming birds in the UK they must be magic to watch.
That's a terrible shame because they seem to belong in a land of bird lovers and pixies!
A beautiful wee write Lorna
All my little Thumbelinas!
