MAORI RELIGION : ANGELA

BRIAN & ANGELA

MAORI TOTEM POLE & THE HAKA ~ WAR DANCE

SOUTH AMERICAN (MAYAN & AZTEC) and NATIVE AMERICAN

Religions have elements in common with the MAORI. BRIAN

has observed this in PERU and BRIAN & I in MEXICO and the

USA.  Male & Female Deities : Effigies and Totem Poles etc.

MAORI RELIGION : In the Beginning there was NOTHING

RANGI : The Sky God & PAPA The Earth Mother

Created the Earth and the Heavens : They had many Children

TAWHIRI MATEA : God of the Winds

TANGOROA : God of the Sea and Fish

TANA MAHUTA : God of the Forest : Flora & Fauna

HAUMIA TIKETIKE : God of Wild Plants

RONGO MA TANE : God of Cultivated Plants

TU MATAUENGA : God of War

RANGI & PAPA separated and the light appeared

TANA MAHUTA became the GOD of the DAY

MAORI RELIGION is less Objective than JUDAISM

MAORI RELIGION is more Subjective than CHRISTIANITY

Many MAORIS have embraced the teachings of CHRISTIANITY

This is a very brief introduction ~ comments welcome ~ ANGELA

The BIBLE teaches that MAN (Human beings) was created

in the "Likeness of GOD" with the ability to understand the

Existence of God and to communicate with Him through

Worship & Prayer.  MAN is a worshipping ANIMAL !

Many Maoris have become Christians and have their own

Maori translation of the Bible and have composed their

own Hymns and also Maori Translations of UK Hymns.

The MAORI are very Spiritual People. Love ANGELA XXXX

Interesting to see the beliefs and the similarities with the Native American beliefs.

THANKS UNCLE ANDY ~ Yes indeed. There are many similarities in the beliefs and practices of Indigenous Religions. But the important facts for Christians to note is that wherever found H. Sapiens is a WORSHIPPING ANIMAL and the GOD (or GODS) he worships is a CREATOR GOD. God created the SOLAR SYSTEM (Sun & Moon etc) but also the Stars and the Flora & Fauna ~ Evolution is a Modern Myth. Without GOD there can be no UNIVERSE ~ SOLAR SYSTEM ~ Life or MAN. People with these simplistic (and pantheistic) Religions respond well to the Christian Gospel. It is a very interesting and complex Subject. It is 7:30 am Saturday here and I am just answering responses to my Poem on MAORI RELIGION! The Maori Friends I have made in Auckland in the last four months are pleased I am sharing facts about the Maori and help me with my Poems & Studies etc. Blessing & Love to JOYCE ~ ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡

      • Fay Slimm.

So interesting to read of Maori culture and religion. Thank you for including The Haka dance too which is exciting and full of vibrant male movement depicting the meaning of life and death. Spirituality can be found in all elements of human interpretation of how life on earth began. Thank you for sharing your research on Maori belief dear Angela.

Thanks FAY pleased you enjoyed it especially the HAKA. This is essentially a SPIRITUAL DANCE of life. death and protection. Evolutionists find it very hard to explain why H Sapiens (everywhere) is a Worshipping Animal : almost as if he had been CREATED in the DIVINE IMAGE of GOD and not EVOLVED in the CARNAL IMAGE of APES! My MAORI Friends (I have been here 4 months) in AUCKLAND have encouraged me to Write about the Maori Culture and New Zealand to encourage Tourism! Yours : Love ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
