OCEANS TEARS

Michael Edwards

OCEANS TEARS

In avenues where trees stand ranked

she breathes a lonely ponderous sigh

as church bells strike the midnight hour

beneath an unknown sky.

Carpeted on poisoned growth

she lays below the branching limbs

her body clad in mist and rain

insensate to  the fingering winds.

With thoughts of unknown pedigree

in memories eidetic clutch

tormented by passivity

she sheds an oceans tears.
