The Day Begins.

Goldfinch60

I open my eyes,

Get out of bed,

And I know,

I know this is a good day.

I open the curtains

Look out the window,

My world is there,

This is a good day.

It may be clear and bright,

It may be grey and dull,

It may be raining,

But it is still a good day,

As I have learned to dance,

Learned to dance in the rain.

Downstairs I go

Switch on the radio,

The glory of music is there,

There for me,

This is a good day.

I look out into the garden,

Nature shows her beauty,

As the colours inspire me,

This is a good day.

The day sails through me

Where each moment is precious,

To be treasured

As they will not return.

I could be lost in a book,

Lost in words as I write,

Sailing through the ether,

To the sounds of music,

This is a good day.

The day is ended

And I go to sleep,

Confident that tomorrow will come,

And it will be a good day.

A good write Gold. Erm, yes, it does help to open our eyes first thing! Bit like plugging in the telly and switching the mains socket on. Yep, I reckon it helps to switch it on first. Wondered why I was looking at a blank telly all day. Hmm. lol.

Every day a bonus - always plan something - never say at the start of each day 'What shall I do today?' you should have planned it out to make the most of it.

        Very true Michael.

Hopefully it is a good day. Optimism is key.

If you have the perception of natural thought enabling you not to be too concerned about what each day is going to be like. The beauty of life shines through this poem and I love the way you have expressed your feeling for every day which in which you believe to be a good day.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you Kevin, I do believe every day will be a good day.

Wet and windy i expect you will awaken to on Thursday.
Who cares about the weather here, at least we have shelter. Poor devils around the planet are suffering all sorts of perils. What do you reckon is wrong with our weather Goldfinch? Will it improve post brexit?

            • Goldfinch60

Yes it is wet this morning but the wind is yet to come, but it is still a good day.

According to the politicians all will be fine after brexit and life will be wonderful including the worlds climate.

"How do you know when a politician is lying?"
              "Their lips move!"
