Under Her Rainbow's Light.

kevin browne

I touched her hand and she touched my heart.
I kissed her cheek, we knew it from the start
Once in love, there is a bright kind of beauty
When her hearts beating like Homers' poetry.
Then, my queen of hearts said quite politely
Twice in love, there's a mirror of her reflection.
Instead of letting go each time you fall in love
Get on your knees and pray for God Almighty.
A place for her in my heart, memories move on.
And I see the pain, a painful of broken-hearted.
But, just wait and see under her rainbow's light
Stepping stones dancing, they haven't even started.
Cathedral tops full of people who fled from afar,
Caught up on a wall where there's no love at all.
It's a night at the opera for when she comes home,
Spread across the Sahra where the sun shines down.
Pyramids built for her are to kiss a thousand tears
Africa shouting, Africa, is still learning to raise a child.
You see, the complexity of ladies thoughts are active.
She'll teach the world to be kind, tender and understanding.
The abundance of what your targets are with cupids arrow
Aiming high in the world of God and all his brilliant wonders.
We walked the Berlin boulevards, back and forth we went
A footstep was teaching love to stay straight and narrow
And those snowflakes drop in the shapes of our hearts
we'll pick them straight up before summer starts.
So. the time arrives when we get down on one knee
Wedding bells are ringing chimes for the very last time
I guess its true loneliness can be the loneliest of all
But, that's over now, all that's left is just her you and me.
It's time for another one, after all, is blessed and done
I gotta be on the first bus back and fall into her arms
Back in old dirty London town to where my heart is now
And, the only humbled place I'd like to rest with her
Are in all her beauty and the grace of her wonderful charm

The mind is filled with the sparkle of love in this worthy account of the value of woman to this cruel world. A pleasure to read Kevin.

indeed it is cruel to most but we must pull them out to reveal they're a true reflection. Thank you for a lovely comment.

Reading like a dreamscape of love and loves loss. Spaces and places whizzing through to colour.
        Leaves one knowing loves enigma.

        • kevin browne

I agree. It's amazing how many love poems have been written and will carry on for a long as we are. Thank you, dusk arising for calling in.

What a breathtaking poem. Says so much to capture images of far away places and still cling to the love story.
