On clock hands I walk back and forth
The sun and the moon, wheel after wheel
smoothen out a gradually hardening sculpture
holding seven hours of distance within
awaiting the slow simmer by an inner flame
It rains again
I almost mistake this to be the theme song of my life
singing episode after episode of passing shadows
but I quickly remember that beneath my feet
are cobbled streets that shoulder centuries of wind and rain
autumns I have never seen
a sky of yellow leaves that blanket the ground as mud
Even birds are a memory circling
The rain is not a passer-by either -
falling into the river
or hurrying across the sky
it walks back and forth by an ancient bridge
wheel after wheel, a sculpture

WELCOME FRIEND ~ Thanks for your first Poem ~ well penned & spaced. Thanks for including including the Chinese Script ~ which has its own intrinsic visual BEAUTY !
To my mind the peom (as suggested by the title is about the WATER CYCLE one of the most important of the EARTHS Cycles.
VERSE ONE talks about the Cycle of Time ~ exemplified by clock hands ~ the Solar & Lunar cycles and turning Wheels ! V. TWO Introduces the Rain ~ Liquid water falling under gravity ! V. THREE Describes the Water Cycle ~ Rain flowing into the Rivers and evaporating (BOILING) to form the Clouds and from the Clouds (by condensation) comes the Rain a cyclic process. No water molecules escape into Outer Space it is ALL recycled ! "It walks back and forth by an ancient bridge ~ AMEN". Thanks for sharing a beautiful Poem ~ more please ! Yours BRIAN.
