NATURAL WORLD

Michael Edwards

NATURAL WORLD

Under coppered skies

in bowls of lacquered lustre

the fruits of harvest.

Stamens upstanding

proud anthers on filaments

pollen dust offered.

Beneath grey skies

winter rain falls cold and clear

spring will soon arrive.

Fine writes and pic Michael. You back home now from 1066?

I'm very tired - just had some marmalade on toast made by the Nuns from whole marmas (the marmalade that is). Now for another coffee. Oooh my head hurts - someone hit me with a cudgel yesterday

I didn't seem to make much impact in the battle. I kept hitting people with my feather duster, but it didn't have any effect on them. I was going to torture them by tickling them with it, but Fido barked, and thought it may be too erotic. Hmm.

        • Michael Edwards

I abandoned the feather duster strategy - it made me sneeze. I did see Fido chasing one of the latrine maids who was looking quite flushed.

            How were the marms? Tasty?

Very - I'll ask Harold to pass on my compliments - Sorry - I mean Fred - Harold's not with us any more is he.

Bee A says to Bee B, 'I Love you Bee B'. Bee B replies 'Buzz off'

You've started off my hay fever with all that pollen. Or are u just pollen our leg?

              • Michael Edwards

That's not hay fever - you're just going to seed 🙂

Love the sketch and the three pieces of studied wisdom Michael- -- the first haiku has to be one of your best methinks. A fine first read of my day.

Thank you Fay - yes No1 is a bit special.

                  Hello Michael,

What a beautiful and vivid write.

You have captured very well the beauty of nature and the bleakness of the colder seasons.

                  I love the picture too!

                  Keep writing

That's really kind - thanks so much.
