MY EWER

Michael Edwards

MY EWER

This is my ewer

which I shall fill

with soft still water

from the pond of the nymphs

  • Comment from author about the poem: I don't really know what this is saying and the idea came from nowhere. And yet of all the short pieces I have written it is way up there at the top of all my favourites. It's not often that I am entirely happy with my work but this one just seems perfect to me and yet I don't know why. Gosh I hope that doesn't sound smug - would love to hear what others make of it...................Feel free to be critical..

May those nymphs continue the harmony that you have in your life Michael.

OK, I'll rubbish this then. Someone commented on one site 'I don't care much for this' on several poems. Erm, he got the reply of two words, one of which was 'off'!
Ooh, a fine write Michael, splendid , flowing, etc. I'm gushing now!l lol.

    • Michael Edwards

Are you gushing in the pond of the nymphs? Don't muddy the water Orchi.

Yes I agree the words are special my friend - - I see appreciation for life's opportunities dear Michael - Appealingly gentle is this solid intention to enjoy being gifted with Nymph attention. Great read.

You've put into words what I guess my subconscious was saying - thank you so much for your kind and insightful comment.

Nymphs? Woof! Fido barked to warn me of a swoon! It's OK Fido. I was thinking of the dragonfly type of nymph.

        • Michael Edwards

But Fido was thinking of the other type - is he Russian? does he know Rou Berles?

I've heard great writers say they are sometimes the conduit for their work that comes to them from somewhere... it flows through them and appears on the page. Just possibly Michael we are in the presence of a great writer?.
It is certainly a pleasure to read your work as it is to see your art.
          No critic here...

          • Michael Edwards

I'm really flattered by your kind comment but I'm not sure I'll ever be considered a great writer - although I do try - thanks so much Andrew - you've made my day.

...and Vincent only sold only sold one painting whilst he was alive
