INTO AUTUMN

Michael Edwards

INTO AUTUMN

Behind the churning tractors wheels

on soil ploughed as  birds sweep low

the ridges point where sky mists rise

and coral beaded berries hang

a quiet peace runs through the vales

in waiting for the seasons change.

May that glorious peace be with us forever Michael. I could see that vale.

It was inspired when I took a walk outside our village - just a shame that the single track road is becoming increasingly used by traffic. Thanks Andy.

A fine write and pic Michael. Miss Berles driving that tractor?!

Gave me the vision of dawn at this time of year. A shudder of chill yet peaceful.

Thanks Dusk - the drawing was done in Latvia on such a morning although the poem was inspired by a local scene.
