Tune: St Timothy
('O Holy Ghost, thy people bless')
John 12 v.23-27

John's Gospel Series (13)
At the time when came Jesus' hour
His ministry in power
He was to fulfil, did not hide
Son of man glorified
Truly, truly, He said, See all
Except grain of wheat fall
Into the ground and die, it stays
Alone, no fruit displays
But if it die, it does bring forth
Much fruit, it be great worth
So they that love their life shall lose
Their life with no excuse
And they that hate their life, not hold
To it in this world's fold
Such shall keep it unto the life
Eternal, with no strife
If any one serve Christ, then let
Them follow Him e'en yet
And where He is, there too shall be
His servants living free
If any one serve Him, then will
His Father honour still
Though Christ's soul troubled, but for this
Cause he came not to miss
To do His Father's will always
Through all His earthly days
To suffer, die, and rise again
Be Saviour to all men
