Tune: Doncaster
('Put thou thy trust in God')
**********
Let anger not abide
Stay not in turmoiled state
Forgive, hold not to grudges, so
Restoring you shall know
Ask forgiveness, the Lord
Shall be true to His word
Shall forgive, help, and strength you give
At peace again, you live
Seek to amend swift, soon
Let not pass many moons
Nor days of strife, unsettling
They only anguish bring
Help us in lesser trials
Whate'er appearance, styles
To wait your time, your wisdom know
You shall reveal it, show
Or where trials long and hard
Where we grow weary, tired
Still trust to you, your love and power
Working through us each hour
Though human failings we
Have, all them you know, see
Yet growing more in Christ your Son
Until earthly days done

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 6686 metre. Anger is a human emotion, but it does not help to be of angry disposition. I suppose it can be easier sometimes to stay angry than to forgive, to let go of things upsetting us. We may like to replay the situations in our minds, to 'get one over' someone, but we may end up worse ourselves.

Thanks Angela. This is from some unpleasant personal experience I had, having to deal with a someone who was a right - time for the - *&^*(^$%£(@%"*!!. Ooh, ears burning now! But some folk, only a few hopefully, you can't even speak to them without some 'I don't care' type of answer in return. I met a horrid un-civil servant! I should have complained about the attitude maybe. It was disgusting. Made me feel like rubbish.
