Tune: Little Cornard
('Hills of the north, rejoice')
*******
Fly free, birds, spread your wings
Fly high over all things
All the sky you have clear
You view all below here
Yes, wing your flight so graciously
The Lord He your Creator be
Swooping and gliding strong
Borne on the winds along
Nothing impair your way
Flying at night or day
So souls released from sins may fly
Through Christ they know they never die
Begone, accusation
And too condemnation
That seek to your wings bind
So you no freedom find
But mourn and coo like doves entrapped
In fears and turmoils all enwrapped
Yet freedom through the One
Jesus the Father's Son
Washed by His blood, we free
He died even for me
And rose again that all may live
Eternal life He does us give
Wing your passage soul, be
Released from your cage, see
Free in Christ to be you
He does make all things new
Ascend on high, not earth bound stay
Christ here for you, He is the Way
We could not ourselves free
But Christ redemptively
Came to our help and aid
Our sins price He has paid
That we full in His image grow
And more of His power may know

- Comment from author about the poem: A hymn-poem in 666688 metre, written after seeing a kite (bird) flying high. I'm still unsure what speed this should be played/sung. it seems garbled if sung too fast.

Great work Orchi
Thanks Michael. Why is it those hills of the north? Where are they? Did the writer mean north UK - Scotland? I'm not that knowledgeable about hymn-writers history.
Super write Orchi. I will be flying with the birds.
Thanks Gold. Yep, let's fly, not in dashing around and hurrying everything, but flying with the birds.
Thank you
Thanks Dan. I suppose there are some sort of 'vibes' in this, if you wish - 'fly free', etc?
The Lord would be proud of you because your words honor Him continuously.
Thanks for posting. 🙂
Thanks Tamara.
No problem!
"Came to our help and aid" er...where exactly did that happen?
Flows nicely.
Thanks dusk. Well, came to our aid as the verse says - to redeem us, to save us, by dying on the cross for us. I have to mention 'save us from our sins'. We have to realise our need. But if we say we don't sin, and are not sinners, then we can't see any need why a guy should die on a cross (then rise again) about 2,0000 years ago for us. Sort of 'you need not have done that, mate'.
what have i been redeemed from? or saved from?
