Tune: St Michael
('The Lord is risen indeed')
John 13 v.1-17 parts
********
John's Gospel Series (14)
Help us, O Lord, we pray
To seek sure every day
Not only to be served, but serve
Nor from your service swerve
Give us grace to wash feet
Serving deeds, humble, meet* (*apt, sutiable)
Following your example, you
Loving service did do
Your disciples feet there
Did wash, supper did share
With them, enough that feet were clean
Not grievous tasks nor mean
So then if you our Lord
And Master say the word
That you our feet have washed, have served
'Tis more than we deserved
You say that we should too
Wash others feet anew
Thus servants as their Lord shall be
This satisfactory
Happy if we do such
In serving, loving much
If we know and then do these things
Life, joy, and peace it brings

Ms Berles likes scenes - err sorry - I meant scones - cream over jam of course.
Scones today for tea! From The Ritz - about £50 each!
And nowhere near as good as my wifes - hers are quite amazing - didn't know I could be serious did you.
Good one once more Orchi, great last stanza.
Thanks Gold.
Orchi,
Love, humility, and humbleness are a wonderful trio as is your poem!
