O LOVE THAT WILL NOT LET ME GO ! BRIAN

BRIAN & ANGELA

LOVE ~ LIGHT ~ JOY and The CROSS ~ AMEN !

O LOVE that will not let me go

I rest my weary soul in THEE

I give YOU back the LIFE I owe

That in Your Ocean Depths it flow

May Richer ~ Fuller BE !

O LIGHT that follows all my WAY

I yield My Flickering Torch to THEE

My Heart restores its borrowed RAY

That in Your Sunshines blaze its DAY

May Brighter ~ Fairer BE !

O JOY that seeks for me through PAIN

I cannot close my Heart to THEE

I trace the Rainbow through the RAIN

And know the Promise is not VAIN

That Morn shall Tearless BE !

O CROSS that liftests up my HEAD

I dare not seek to fly from thee

I lay in DUST lifes Glory DEAD

And from the ground there blossoms RED

LIFE that shall Endless BE !

Thanks for Reading ~ comments welcome ~ BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡

This very Beautiful Hymn was written by George Mattheson

who was BLIND. It was written by George shortly after his

Fiancee had broken off their engagement. George realised

that although sometimes ~ Human Love may fail ~ The Love

of  GOD NEVER EVER LETS GO ~ AMEN !

Hymns are very important in Christian Worship as Brother

ORCHIDEE reminds us every day !  I was recently at a Seminar

on HYMNOLOGY  and we were asked "Which ONE HYMN would

we like at your FUNERAL ?" Without hesitating I replied "O LOVE

that will not let me go" especially the last verse ~ Love BRIAN !

A lovely hymn-poem Brian. The author was blind from his youth, I think - George Matheson. A very poignant story about him on Wikipedia.
When one's light may be going out, or seeming to be, physically or spiritually, there is Christ the Light of the world for us still.

Ooooo BIG BEAR : What a wonderful song for Sunday. Its Sunday Evening Here and we had a BARBIE after Church this morning : sorry you are all freezing to DEATH in the UK! We had lots of LAMB & VEGGIES & FRUIT and KIWI JUICE which I love ! The Church Barbies are TEETOTAL ! I was interested in your choice of Funeral Hymn and I agree it will be very appropriate in 50 years time ! Personally I would choose HOW GREAT THOU ART which is more general ! Whenever we have it at a Funeral it not only lifts the ROOF but also everybodies SPIRIT ! Have a great day Abrazos y Besos con todo de mi Amor : ANGEL 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
