Hair Dying.

Goldfinch60

Well that time had come again,

She was going to dye her hair.

Into the bathroom she went

Armed with her accoutrements

To transform her hair

From silver to brown.

For many years she had done it,

Even before she met me,

I never minded.

But what I did mind

Was having to repaint the walls,

Repaint the ceiling,

And scrub the floor,

After she had finished.

  • Comment from author about the poem: My wife used to dye her hair regularly as she went grey in her late twenties, she doesn't dye it any more but when she did the dye went everywhere. The song 'That's Jazz' is from the film High Society, seeing this clip has made me want to see the film again.

Yes lol. In some kitchens it may look like people have been throwing the food around the room while preparing it. Some staff canteens can be horrendous. And let's not get started on some public loos. 'Abandon hope, all ye that enter (some of) them'. Of course I only use top-notch public loos - John Lewis or M&S. lol.

Are you supporting KP now that her firm has gone bust?

"Broke Katie Price has shut down her flop fashion business as she continues to fight crippling debts.
The 40-year-old ex glamour model has desperately been looking to cut down on costs as much as possible after she was given another extension on her bankruptcy case last month.
In a fresh blow, the mum-of-five has now been forced to close down clothing company KP Boutique, which flogged a range of loungewear to her fans.
According to The Sun , the company - which was launched in 2016 - had just £13 in the bank. In July, she quit as company director."

Nope, not supporting her. She nicked my money for that business!

I bet she looked a million dollars so all your cleaning up was a humble small price to pay for such radiant company.

I know the problem. My wife has started to use my little dressing room for drying her hair and it's been taken over by brushes and products.

Of course it has, my wardrobe has also been encroached.

Ah, hair dye. I actually just had to scrub my bathroom sink because the bottle fell on accident. But the stain on the wall is too little for anyone without OCD to see. I understand fully what it's like to have to clean up dye (And the obsessive nature of having to redye it.. Once my roots show, I panic.) A wonderful and sweet piece. I enjoyed reading it.

              Thank you Cali, much appreciated.

Oh but we are so worth it............. (she says as she sees both of you squeezing into tighter and tighter corners of the house)........... hee hee. And thanks for the reminder of this movie - I'll pull out the video tonight! Also coming time for White Christmas. And if you want to share a very simple story but my all time Christmas favorite - it's old fashioned but I don't think you'll mind that Andy......... Stubby Pringle's Christmas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEGW-Hw3ABA - give it a chance - I think it will touch you!

                Hi Lorna,

I have watched the first ten minutes of the film and yes you have read me right, it has touched me already, I will watch it all later today. Thank you so much.

Oh wonderful! Let me know how you liked it ... I watched it again after finding it to share - something about it takes me back to when I first met Jay and we had horses in a very old stable that went back in time - I can still smell the old wood and hay). Also watched the Philadelphia Story last night (you know, the Hepburn/Cary Grant version of High Society which I couldn't find - it's here somewhere!)
