World AIDS Day

World AIDS Day - Dec 1st

********

Just some thoughts, in considering

'What is AIDS?'  A modern leprosy?

What is our response?

Sadly, people may have themselves to blame for it

Yet not to enter into judgement of them

Their poor state - maybe bed-ridden

Or always feeling ill and infected

To show love and compassion...

Jesus even touched a leper

Let's not be:

'Ugh!' Oh no!' 'I'm not touching him/her'

'Disgusting' ' a sort of plague'.....

Yet Jesus' touch brought healing

Medicines may help too

Relieving pain, etc

Even if no human cure

The immune system itself is deficient.....

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

Give aid to AIDS victims, where we can....

Wear red ribbon if you have one

Yes, often may be...

'There's always someone worse off than us'

Yet we have our matters too

Our problems, difficulties, sufferings, etc....

A thought or two

A prayer or two

Some help, some thing to help them in some way...

Better than nothing

We 'pass not by on the other side'.......

Hear hear - and now for the video - will I need dark glasses?

    • orchidee

Thanks Michael. Erm, there's a bit of blood! A cheery advert popped up too on the clip: 'Death Registers Online'. Oh dear! Have a nice day.

A very good and appropriate write Orchi, the video shows a great explanation of the problem, well done for making us aware.

        Thanks Gold.

Your presentation is interesting and forces us to reflect on the sufferings of others around the world.

There, at one time, were studies being undertaken on the leaves and powder of the Moringa Tree

Supposedly this helps HIV, Aids and Cancer patients.

Did those scientific studies show that Moringa was effective for HIV or Aids?

Thank you for sharing this sad news.

Thanks Tamara. I'm open to some alternative medicines, but not a cranky one I came across - involves standing on ya head for long times. We got enough to do with being the right way up, let alone upside-down! Supposed to be some 're-birthing' but seems spooky to me. lol.

Well, from my research the Moringa Tree is called the Miracle Tree. Supposedly the leaves even purify water. I did buy some leaves and have started making teas. We'll see.! The even sell 50 lb bags of it for survival in the event of some mishap. 🙂

Thanks B&A. maybe the trouble is if they spat on you, or something. But then you wouldn't want to treat such anti-social people. Yet I'm 'fussy' about mouth-to-mouth 'kiss of life', whether HIV or not. Probably me being swoony, calling it the 'kiss of life'!
