Come and hear now, one and all
The voice of one in wilderness
The Lord him to you shall bless
'Tis John the Baptist, prophecy
This would come to pass, here see
He cries, Prepare you the way now
Christ shall come, I do avow
Prepare the way of the Lord, for
He shall come soon, it is sure
Make straight in the desert a way
Ready for His advent day
Every valley shall be lifted
Exalted, not low, not hid
And every mountain and hill shall
Be made low, all shall be well
The crooked places shall be made
Straight, it shall not be delayed
And the rough places be made plain
It shall not be a work vain
And the glory of the Lord shall
Be revealed, and all will tell
For all flesh shall together view
The Lord making all things new
