POST OP COMPLICATIONS
My bones are old – I’m no spring chicken
My post op setback’s unforgivin’
I’m suffering still - don’t mind admittin’
but hey - I’m still alive and kickin’.

Wrote this a couple of weeks ago and much better now. Saw the Consunsultant yesterday and all Okay - should be back to driving again in a couple of days. I went through a life threatening experience which in retrospect has served me well in my appreciation of life. I can't wait to get back to a full active life again.
The body might well be old
But the mind is still alive
With your pictures and words
You WILL survive.
May your sufferin' soon be over Michael and you are out running those marathons once more.
Marathons? I'm the one who watches them run past and Snickers. LoL
When at school in Kent on the sports afternoon we had once a week we were forced to do cross countrys, myself and some school friends who thought they were a bad idea used to run ubtil we were out of site of the masters and then divert and sat and watched the M2 bridge over the River Medway in Rochester being built. We then took a short cut to the ending coming in with the 'pack', we never won.
I was much the same - not a sport enthusiast. I recall the occasion when I was put in goal - I was so bad at half time the teacher made me swap sides to give both teams an equal chance. Ah memories!
I used to be a goalie in Junior school, I let 10 goals in in one match.
Saying that though I did play sport I played hockey and tennis for the school, I used to play Cricket for a local club once I left school but my main sport was table tennis, I played that for over thirty years, I never got to County standard but used to play for my town occasionally.
Your spirit willin' but your flesh weak there, as it's said? Yes, best wishes. We're still knockin' around. We're quite old. Well, we was there in 1066. lol.
It wasn't so easy in 1066 - the cars were pretty basic back then.
Miss Berles there, back in '66? 1066 that is?
She was an icky little Berles back then. She started at the bottom in the Regiments sock washing department and rose to the position of Senior Plume Polisher.
Such good news re. the journey back to health again Michael - - after a battle with post-op. troubles to be back in the driving seat is a major step forward. Keep taking care my friend. p.s. Love the pure light of clarity in the watercolor
Thanks Fay - yes nearly there. Might even try a short drive later today - I'm going stir crazy stuck at home.
How's that evening M?
Nay bad but a bit headachey - went out to an Italian Restaurant for lunch and had a bottle of red my wife had white and it was still half full so I had a glass - passed the remainder to the next table when we left - never seen anyone so surprised and so grateful.
Michael,
“Alive sand kickin’ ”...that’s a good thing!
So glad you’re feeling better!
Great painting!
I just finished watching former president George H.W. Bush’s funeral. Your painting reminded me of the cathedral the funeral services took place. Beautiful!
~Laura~
Thanks Laura - the painting has been used for a couple of weddings on the front of the Order of Service. It's a superb church for a small village.
I really enjoyed this bit of self disclosure... am glad to hear you are on the mend too.. N
Thanks Neville - yes better day by day - drove today for the first time in a month.

I drove my wife mad.
