Simply Difficult.

Goldfinch60

You hear it,

Here that tune

Played by a master.

It sounds so easy,

It is such a simple tune,

But it talks to you

As the master

Plays it just for you.

But in music,

If it sounds easy,

If it sounds simple,

It isn’t,

It’s difficult,

And only the master

Can play it,

So that it sounds simple.

  • Comment from author about the poem: In the Choirs that I have sang in we have often sung John Rutter songs, they sound so easy when sang but they are very difficult to get right. "Simple can be difficult".

A good write Gold. Ohh I know sometimes. Gotta get the pesky metres right. I've not tried hardly any 'irregular metre' songs! heehee.

    • Goldfinch60

Thanks Ochi, those irregular metres can be fun, listen to this:

This fine write strikes a chord with me - in art it's the same - I hate the term 'less is more' but I can't think of a better phrase at the moment.

      • Goldfinch60

Yes it is the same in all walks of life, watching a skilled artist, composer, poet, workman even somebody digging a hole can look so easy until you try it yourself.
Less is more is such a strange phrase but perfectly meaningful.

        Andy,

        Music is love...
        Music is heart...
        Music is life!

        Music enriches our creativity !
We can all relate and feel it in our own way!

A relatable write which you have masterfully penned! A wonderful read! Thank you for your daily shares!

My love to Joyce and you!

a precisely penned poetical musical paradox captured and true...if ever there was..

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you Neville, a paradox indeed.

            • Neville

              yes, absolutely..
