Tune: Personent Hodie
('Long ago, prophets knew')
Luke 1 v.78-79
**********
I will sing, I will bring
A tribute to my King
He new-born of virgin
Manger-cradle within
Comes to save us from sin
Chorus
Let the earth rejoice
Join the angel's voice
God here, Emmanuel
He with us, let all tell
Born of the Spirit true
He perfect, holy too
Come and see, here He lay
He the Truth, Life, and Way
Bringing eternal day - Chorus
Through the tender mercy
Of our God, here now see
Light has sprung, night is o'er
Let us worship, adore
He shall rule, reign e'ermore - Chorus
God visits us, gives light
Enabling our eye sight
Light to those in darkness
They who sin does oppress
He sent to us to bless - Chorus
Sit no more 'neath death's cloud
Its shadow like a shroud
He will guide our feet sure
In His way peaceful, pure
He shall us raise, restore - Chorus

That light is always with us Orchi.
"THE BELLS! THE BELLS!"
Thanks Gold. Yes, The Bells! lol
The first 3 words are filling me with fear - you're not going to sing are you Orchi?
Thanks M. lol. Oh yes, I'm gonna sing, cos I wrote 'I WILL sing!' Argghhh! Can't I delay it, or better still, cancel it? I will be ding-donging in time, merrily on high, that is.
Oh Orchi - go ding your dong and deck your hall - I've always wanted to deck a Hall - he used to be a neighbour of mine and not a very nice person
Something naughty was on telly about 'hall passes'. Erm, can't go into it in public. I will swoon!
Thanks UNCLE STEVE : Angela here ! Dozens of prophesies in the OT regarding the Birth & Life of JESUS : When the time was just right : God sent His Son into the World : Born of a Woman : AMEN ! Love the Hymn : Love the Poem : Thanks for sharing : Love ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Cooeee B&A - thanks! yes, some Advent/Christmas songs can overlap. There's still hundreds of hymns, literally, I don't know, having checked one or two mainly 'ancient hymns' websites. They're never seen, never heard of, and so probably never sung. 'Modern' is good too.
