There we were
Eating our Sunday Lunch,
Roast loin of pork, apple sauce,
Roast potatoes, carrots and greens
When my wife looked up at me,
“Isn’t it quiet”
She said.
It was,
Couldn’t hear any neighbours,
Only the occasional bird call,
Even our music had finished.
I listened,
Listened to the wonder,
The wonder of the silence,
It was beautiful.
I looked at her,
“Maybe the end of the world has come”
I said,
“And we two are the only ones left”.
If that was the case
My lover and I were there,
We were there together,
Together in Paradise.

A lovely write Gold. I reckon I see glimpses of heaven at times. I saw a dog rolling over in the park. Maybe it had an itch, or waiting for a tummy-tickle. I won't roll over in the park cos I will swoon! lol.
Thanks Orchi. Those glimpses of heaven are always there, we just need to be aware of them.
Shall I roll over in the park, for a tummy tickle? I would say 'I'm only copying that dog!' lol
Those private personal moments together are the best.
They certainly are Michael.
Ah, a glimpse of heaven.
Very true Debs, thank you.
Ahhhhhhh heaven Andy............ such peace.
Very much so Lorna, thank you.
There they were together in paradise, the only discernable sounds were their digestive systems.
Suddenly a greasy baking tray slipped off the draining board and crashed to the floor.
The moment was lost.
Not this time d a, I must have put the baking tray in a safe environment.
