Folded it lay and white
Folded tight
On the white of the cloth
A hasty read
Then idly tossed
No seeds
Were planted in the heart
It had flown so far to find
The wind that had carried it
With high hopes aloft
Turned back alone
And imparted with soft sighs
As he roamed
Sad news of a love that died

Great lyrics Lorna.
A good write Lorna. I thought ya 'tossed aside' my singing?! heehee.
You would like the lyrics of the song Orchi - at first I thought it was a love song (since I couldn't quite hear all the words) but then realized it's about a sailor writing to thank "his friend" (God) for saving him.... very beautiful! So you can sing this one in church!
be proud of these words my friend, I am for you.. N
Thanks Neville.... I kinda thought this one was mediocre so thanks for the nice words.
Lorna,
I love your great poem. It’s an amazing read!
Thank you for sharing the link.
I listened to the song as I was looking at the lyrics. It was beautiful indeed!

Nice Laura - thanks!
GOOD EVENING LORNA : ANGELA here ! Love the visual & the video : thanks for directing us to the LYRIC. Lovely to follow while Mean Mary sang the elegant Lyric. I enjoyed your take in the Poem : that the letter was from a LADY ? !
Yours ANGELA 🧡
Please check our latest FUSION and BRIAN'S poem "I LOVE YOU BECAUSE" Thanks A & B !
Didn't think woman or man....... guess it doesn't matter if someone's heart was broken!
Beautiful emotive write Lorna.
I imagine I would rather read about it than receive it..
a poem seemingly filled to the point of overflowing with losses and disappointment.. well crafted an very much enjoyed ... N
