Fools gold

Netashi

Come a little closer then you’ll see

Theta was here looking in a mirror, criticizing himself not knowing everything else from the other side of the looking glass everyone is different for better and for worse.

  • Winter howls as it comes closer and closer

As the winds blow and softly scrapes your shoulder

  • Tis the season to be happy, thankful and jolly

Surrounded by people and decorations celebrating the Holly

  • But all that glitters isn’t gold

We don’t need gifts just someone to hold

  • Also things aren’t always as they seem

Some people are stuck in nightmares while others in dreams

  • So please give someone a gift whether big or small

Show people the meaning of decking the halls

  • For everyone needs love no matter the size

Being mean is easy instead give a smile big and wide

  • For being materialistic is shallow and extremely bold

For their type of happiness is not real like fools gold

A clever construct - in fact I can see two poems here - one in bold and one in lower case. Great write Theta

Very observant Micheal thank you for the generous words.

    • Fay Slimm.

The theme of the verse gives a good reason to work against materialism and I agree wholeheartedly in the worthless value of "fools gold" and that "everyone needs love" to find happiness - a fine write my friend.

Thank you for the generous words Fay

        Clever write Theta.

When our children or grandchildren ask what I would like for Christmas I always reply "Your time", time is the most precious thing that anybody can give to another.

          Very true
