Shod in shoes of silence
she walked in the steps of the dead.
When weighed on the scales of perception
she was deigned of humble means.
Time brings softening influences
when all around is black.
Within the orchards firm embrace
her tears swelled clustering fruit.
Her tokens of love
confirmed by her trust.
Memories fade and bruises pale
but scars remain to tell the tale.

I like this discarded out take idea, great for your carbon footprint... where nothing is necessarily wasted and it just goes to show that inspiration can be found in anything and everything .... Neville
I often have ideas which during editing , whilst they are good, do not sit well in the poem. I often incorporate them in other works but some sit in the outtake box for ages - these are a few which I thought stood alone in their right. Cheers Neville.
you were write..
Some very perceptive couplets in these Michael.
Thanks Andy.
An array of wise perception in these resurrected outtakes Michael - the final couplet is most telling - scars certainly do remain.
They sure do and thanks to my recent trauma I've got one to prove it - thanks Fay.
You all disarrayed there?! Good words M. You know Ms Di Sarray? These word-names are getting worse! lol.
Trouble is our circle of friends is so large.

Got toothache - taken ibroprofen - feel sorry for myself - waiting in all afternoon for a client to ring - she hasn't - otherwise all okay - and you?
Ok thanks. Can Miss Berles help you at all?
Yes if she has her cheque book with her - I've got berles to pay.
Michael,
I enjoyed reading the six couplets. I’m especially fond of the third one for personal reasons!
Each time I see one of your beautiful village paintings, I fondly remember the small Italian village my parents came from!

Each one a gem in itself.
