SECRET

Fay Slimm.

Secret.

Stalked in tall greenery, cupped as itself,
bud-tight but becoming
slowly unfurled petal perfection opens
to show in this single rose
gentle attention that strongly fragile sighs
from a distance
which out-faces with essence so knowingly.

Sweet silent colours and rich tones vibrate,
because this rose
holds beauty from friendship's warm hand,
treasured more
by it's message to bloom for me, now fated
for foreign shore,
a rose sings love's wishes from far-off land.

Impassioned, compelling, incarnadine rose,
your secret so deep only providence knows.

  • ANGELA & BRIAN

Death doth hide but not divide
It is as though the rose
That blossomed on our Garden Wall
Has bloomed upon the Other Side !

This is a verse we have used at Funerals & on gravestones. Reading between the lines of your second verse. My Boyfriends often sent me 12 rosebuds (@ Valentine etc) and they opened as our love developed ! Your poem is very elegant in its presentation : and expresive in its prose. Thanks again for a precious & personal Poem.
