Wishful thinking
Theta was here, wishing for once the world would be quiet. For everyone and everything to be happy but he knew that would not happen for a long time.
- Cries in this blue and green globe
For once was beautiful but now is old
- Sorrow sprinkled around like sprinkles that are bitter
Pleads for peace but it is apparent that we are in winter
- Not just in season but also in mood
All over the world the wants and needs are misunderstood
- War and famine are presented instead of flowers
For we have been infected by the love of power
- Protests bloom into riots and disputes into wars
Why must we treat our earth this way and leave it worn
- Instead of presents we have bombs and controversies
When we will mankind start to change and start learning
- We need the power of love not the love of power
Hopefully we learn so we can redeem our final hours

"Whispering words of wisdom, let it be...……."
True this poem contains poetic words of wisdom and enjoyed the play on phrasing in the final couplet - reading about the power of love to bring about peace and redemption fills a poet like me with hope.. Thanks for sharing it Theta.
A great read.
A fine write Theta.
Very good and very true write.
the lines:
"When we will mankind start to change and start learning
We need the power of love not the love of power
Hopefully we learn so we can redeem our final hours"
I hope will one day happen.
I love the title to begin with. I do that myself with the words starting with the same and this poem was awesome! 🙂
The title is from a song that which I don't know the name or artist/group. But I too like the title, Thank you again for the input.
