Now That I'm Older.

kevin browne

Now that I'm older and I'm slowly feeling the pace
Every kiss, every smile vanished without a trace
It took a long time to get here, but I don't feel old
Every word I hear, every story that's ever been told.

The baggage that carried all through to my heart
I fell by the wayside but love became a big part
If I remember when I was born I was born a king
I've loved to live and lived to love if it was anything.

It's time to grow up and it's time to let live forever
Young in my heart, young in my mind, and together
The piece and the pleasantry of my ageing bones
This year caused my heart to flip over a new stone.

Can you forgive me when my speech has been lost
I'll tie my tongue to the floor, but I'll bill you a cost
For every penny, every pound and money I spent
I was somewhere there looking for the money I lent.

Eyebrows look up, but when a smile looks down
The cursed of the aged with a thoughtful frown
I've always been thinking about what I could write
With the Sun, the sky, the Moon and Mars at night'

I'll sit in my armchair rocking away back to and forth
Disoriented about which is south, east, west or north
But, dribble I do well with a napkin strangling my neck
So, I'll side with my wheelchair, and whatever the heck.

Age is content with respect to the ailments it holds
I've never been happier with my hair even if I'm bold
Touching is grace inside the virtues of what's been done
Whatever hasn't I'll be a 100 and then I'd have won.

You really know your life is done
when senior moments join as one.

Having a lucid moment so will wish you a great Christmas before I lose it again.

Age is just a number it is what you do with the experience you have garnered over the years that can mean so much to you and those around you.
      Happy Christmas Kevin.
