Dali’s Eyes
I
Want
To see
The world
Through Dali’s eyes
And write like Hemmingway
To
Share
The blues
And greens
And the in-betweens
And take your breath away

I go weak at the knees at the mention of Dali - my all time favourite and hope to return to his museum in Figures in the next year or so - often his work is underrated in the glare of his eccentricity but heigh. This is a great write Neville.
thank you Michael, you are very kind.... yes he is a favourite of mine also.. I went to one of his exhibitions years ago in London... I also sat at Hemmingway's typewriter in Cuba....
there maybe something in that, but I think also people are frightened to comment on things they fear also.... cheers Diamond
LOL every writer dreams of such wishes.
But better to see and be who you are and who you will become in your own right (write).
Both the greats u mention had , their inspiration and maybe wished they could emulate them. They didn't though.
thank you for visiting and for your very reasoned response.... many thank you's & all good things N
I like your aspirations. I don't know much about the Dali, but I have read my Hemingway and yes; what a writer! Nice concise poem, love your structure, by the way...
Cheers Kevin
A fine write N.
thank you orchidee.. and a Happy New Year..
Great structure to this tribute - Dali and Hemingway are both inspirational to help such as me see the elusive in-betweeness of genius.
thank you for considering this little scribble of mine and for encouraging me to continue scribbling..
A terrific poem. It speaks the desire of every poet. To take the "breath away" from all who read it. If Dali were a poet, who would he be? My choice is E. E. Cummings. Inspired by your poem. Thank you. - Phil A..
thank you sir.. you are very kind indeed.. Neville
To dream of being in the world of your favourites in the world of art(s) is so awe inspiring.
I feel this way when I see William Holman-Hunt's works.
thank you Goldfinch60
