Day of Bach.

Goldfinch60

I sit here in dawns early light

The day before me,

I wonder what it will bring?

Then I hear it,

I hear Johann Sebastian playing,

Playing for me.

The sound of the piano

Surrounds me,

As Bach’s music enters my being

And ensures that the day,

The day before me,

Will be wonderful.

Bachman Turner Overdrive or Bach.. although maybe polar opposites within their respective musical genres both are enjoyable when the mood strikes....

    • Goldfinch60

      So very true, opposites attract.
didn't know about BDO but have just sampled a couple of tracks and will now need to listen to more. The seventies was a great time for music.

I thought you was playing the USA National Anthem, going by the first line of this poem! A fine write and music Gold.

                  • Goldfinch60

Thanks Orchi. Why would I of all people play the USA National Anthem?

                    • orchidee

Oohh you got patriotic connections with them?! At a workplace some hated 4th of July. American boss would always bring in goodies to celebrate. Some UK people didn't want to join US celebrations.

The piano has to be my favourite instrument although I am currently listening to Bennetts Enchanted April.

The piano is a fine instrument, except when I try and play it.

Have you heard this played on the ukelele?

                        • Goldfinch60

Not on the Ukelele but I have made various arrangements of it:
Wife and I played it as a clarinet duet and also a trumpet and clarinet duet
and for a bit of fun I arranged it for a Church fun concert for B flat bass and penny whistle, a friend played the B Flat bass, he is in numerous brass bands and I played the penny whistle. I borrowed the case for the bass and opened on the stage and pulled out the penny whistle.
